Rebecca Soffer is Co-Founder and CEO of Modern Loss, a community launched in November 2013 providing original content and community to people in Generations X and Y (and beyond) who have lost a loved one. The site offers original personal essays, an advice column, and wide-ranging legal, financial and therapeutic resources.
She is a former Peabody Award-winning producer for "The Colbert Report", where she accompanied Stephen Colbert on his quest to interview all 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Most recently, she developed programming and events for Reboot, an international network of 500 cultural creatives reimagining Jewish life in the modern age.
Rebecca has been featured in numerous major media outlets, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe and several NPR stations, and recently presented at the 2014 Chicago Ideas Week. She is an advisor to the Li.st, a network of women in new media and technology.
Rebecca is a graduate of Emory University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She lives in New York City and the Massachusetts Berkshires with her husband, toddler son and labradoodle.
